The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chastised President Muhammadu Buhari for the purported terrorist takeover of Kaduna International Airport on March 26, 2022, claiming that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given terrorists statehood.

The PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, stated in a statement on Sunday that the country's security, command, and control system has entirely crumbled under the Buhari-led APC administration.

The attack on the airport by terrorists comes at a time when criminals, kidnappers, and marauders are purportedly taking over Nigeria's highways and railways, according to the main opposition party, raising security worries that no place in the country is safe under the APC.

"President Buhari and the APC's rejection and failure to act on the airport attack while continuing to have a jamboree in Abuja in the guise of a National Convention expose and confirm that the Buhari administration has conceded sovereignty over portions of our country to terrorists," the PDP claims.

"President Buhari's casual attitude toward this severe security crisis implies that his administration is unable, unwilling, or complicit in this particular incident as well as countless other acts of terrorism in our country," the statement continued.

While an international airport in our country was attacked by over 200 terrorists, many Nigerians were taken captive and traumatized, President Buhari and the APC continued with their campaign.

"The APC government has failed, has become numb to violence against our citizens, and can no longer perform its primary duty under Section 14 (2)(b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), which states that the primary purpose of government is to ensure the security and welfare of the people. President Buhari's refusal to respond to the Kaduna Airport attack is typical of his habitual dereliction of duty in crisis situations. Nigerians will recall that Mr. President delayed his planned visit to Zamfara State in January this year, a state that is constantly terrorized by terrorists."

The party maintained that the President had agreed to share sovereignty with terrorists over a portion of Nigeria's land.

The ability of an authority to charge taxes, enforce collection, control economic operations, as well as exit and entry points, including airports, is one of the primary elements or determinants of sovereignty, according to the report.

Terrorists have established sovereignty in large parts of the country under President Buhari, according to the PDP, particularly in the North West and North East regions, where terrorists enforce laws and impose penalties, collect taxes, control commercial and transportation activities, and have now frighteningly taken control of an international airport, with grave consequences for our national image in the world.
