The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has later today announced that sixteen new cases of #COVID19 in the country.

This was made public through a tweet from NCDC twitter handle.

The tweets goes : Sixteen #Covid19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina.

As at 09:30 pm 7th April there are 254 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Fourty-four have been discharged with six deaths.

Oyo- 11

Edo- 11

Bauchi- 6

Akwa Ibom- 5

Kaduna- 5

Ogun- 4

Enugu- 2

Ekiti- 2

Rivers-2

Benue- 1

The nation has been thrown into the sorrowful mood as the former Chief of Staff to the president of Nigeria Abba Kyari died from the global pandemic COVID-19 that has put the whole world in total lockdown. 

The former Chief of staff was tested positive last month after return from London where he went on an official assignment. 

It was rumored that he was being treated at Lagos State in an undisclosed location as defended by the presidency. 

It was a big loss to the whole nation after his death was disclosed by the special assistant to president Muhammad Buhari; Femi Adesina this morning April 18.

While there are more cases of COVID-19 rising continuously we urge all citizens of Nigeria to continue praying and keep maintaining the stay at home order.

Let's not lose hope but be together in this trying time as a great nation we are known for.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded 195 new cases yesterday will move the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1,532 with 44 death.

It should be noted that only 3 states out of the 36 states in the country has no confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, these are, Kogi, Yobe and Cross River state.

Meanwhile the global confirmed cases has now moved to 3,140,285 cases with over 218,000 death.

The epicentre of the novel coronavirus case in Nigeria; Lagos State releases a statistics chart to show the some details about the number of confirmed cases in the state.

The chart shows that the local government with the highest number of confirmed cases as 18/04/20 is the Lagos Mainland follows by Ikeja. While only 3 local government have not recorded any cases.

The chart also shows that the gender ratio of the confirmed cases is 70:30 for male and female respectively.

It will be recalled that Lagos state has more than 60% of the total number of cases in the country with close to 400 cases.

The state has been under lockdown for the last 21 days and there is still the possibility of extension with the exponential increase being recorded in the state.

It is to be noted that, the Lagos state government has extended testing centres to 26 in the state.
