EFCC nabs 21 suspected internet fraudsters in Bauchi
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 21 individuals suspected of cybercrime in Bauchi State.
The arrests were carried out by the commission’s Gombe Zonal Directorate on Saturday, following credible intelligence on the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet fraud.
This was contained in a statement released by the EFCC on Monday through their official X handle.
According to the statement, the operation took place in Kaure New Government Reservation Area (GRA) and Awala, Maiduguri Road, Bauchi.
Recovered items from the suspects include a BMW car, a Toyota Camry, three PlayStation 5 consoles, 30 high-end mobile phones, a flat-screen television, six point-of-sale (POS) machines, four iPads, and five laptops.
The EFCC assured that the suspects would be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
