17 out of 25 of the Ekiti State Assembly has today impeached the Speaker, Rt Hon.
Gboyega Aribisogan, and concomitantly suspended him indefinitely. Naijacrawl reports.
In another development, Olubunmi Adelugba, who is the favoured candidate of immediate past governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi has now been elected as the new speaker.
The Assembly Complex had been sealed as members were embroiled in a controversy following the death of the former speaker, Funminiyi Afuye.
66-year-old Afuye died at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital on October 19 after suffering cardiac arrest.
