After several weeks of postponement, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) convened its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja today, during the meeting former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State was elected as the National Chairman of the party.
Additionally Ajibola Basiru, a Senate spokesman was elected as the National Secretary. The NEC meeting was attended by figures including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the Progressive Governors Forum and other prominent party members, from the National Assembly.
Addressing the 12th NEC of the party, the President said the APC has won the elections and it is now time to deliver the promises of good governance to the Nigerian people.
It will be noted that two members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) resigned. Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore resigned as the party’s National Chairman and National Secretary respectively in July
