The Abia State Governor, Governor Otti assessed the ongoing palliative work on the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway.
This vital transportation and economic corridor, particularly the Port Harcourt-Aba section connecting Abia state with Rivers State, demands close attention.
Accompanying Governor Otti were key members of the State Executive Council, with the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Otumchere Oti, among them. The tour spanned from the state boundary with Rivers State at the Imo River, through Alaoji, and concluded at the entrance of the Ariaria International Market (Enyimba junction).
Guided by a team of engineers from CCECC, a primary contractor for the road project, Governor Otti expressed satisfaction with the observed speed and quality of the work. Recognition was given to the timely approval by President Bola Tinubu, whose instrumental role facilitated the contractors' return to the site. Gratitude was also extended to the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, for his unwavering commitment to completing this road, which has suffered prolonged neglect.
The Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway holds immense economic significance as a crucial route. Governor Otti emphasized the dedication to overseeing the project's progress, ensuring its timely completion, and maintaining the highest standards of quality. The commitment to this critical infrastructure project reflects the collective effort to enhance transportation links and bolster economic activities within the region.
