The death of the deceased named Paul Okwudili has been confirmed by the the state police command PRO, SP Haruna Mohammed. The SP narrates that it was the manager of the hotel that came to report the incident at the station, that the deceased took a lady to the hotel and few minutes later the lady started shouting for help and the hotel staff needed to run to the room but discovered the deceased was gasping for air. And in their effort to resuscitate him, he was rushed to St Charles Boromeo hospital in Onitsha where his death was later confirmed.

In the preliminary investigation that was carried out by the police, after the photographs of the deceased that was taken and non clear evidence of violence was detected from his body but only some drugs presumed to be for sex enhancement.
