Franchise Albert had warned both his wife and Ishaya Markus about their illicit relationship, but the warnings went unheeded. The deceased and his wife engaged in a heated argument over the affair, leading Libiyatu to leave for her parents' house. However, Ishaya followed her and continued the affair, even after the warning.

Libiyatu, in her statement to the police after being arrested, revealed, "My husband had warned us when he got wind of what we were doing. My husband and I fought over the issue, as a result of which I left for my parents' house. Ishaya followed me and took me into the bush and had an affair after the warning. He slept with me 5 times."

The suspect, admitting to the affair, shared his side of the story during interrogation. He recounted a fatal encounter with Franchise Albert when he went to the community to meet Libiyatu again, despite the warning. A fight broke out, resulting in both parties pulling out knives. Ishaya Markus confessed to stabbing the deceased in the stomach and neck, leading to his death.

"We later resolved our family issues with my husband, and he asked me to return to my matrimonial home. I even promised not to have an extramarital affair with the man again. On the day of the incident, Ishaya came to take me out again but couldn't meet me at home at that time," narrated Libiyatu.

Ishaya, expressing remorse, pledged to take care of the deceased's wife or pray for her to marry another man. He pleaded with the police for forgiveness.

Confirming the incident, SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngurore, the police command spokesperson, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered a thorough investigation. The suspect will be prosecuted, ensuring justice is served for the tragic events that unfolded in Fufore LGA.
