In Edo State, 19-year-old Timothy Dauda, who claimed to possess "native doctor" abilities, has been arrested after a fatal shooting occurred while testing a bulletproof charm he had prepared for a client.
The incident took place in Onumu Community, located in the Àkókò-Edo Local Government Area.
Dauda was hired by the victim, Alex Ezekiel, to create a bulletproof charm. To demonstrate its effectiveness, Dauda attempted to test the charm by shooting Ezekiel. Unfortunately, the charm failed, and Ezekiel sustained fatal injuries. He was immediately rushed to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The Edo State Police Command's spokesperson, SP Moses Joel Yamu, confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that Dauda specializes in preparing charms against weapons like guns and cutlasses. Yamu also mentioned that Dauda was apprehended by operatives from the Igarra Division and will face prosecution following the conclusion of the investigation.
