The Nigeria government has stated thier intention to ban the importation of tomato paste before the end of the year.



This was disclosed by the minister of agriculture Mr Audu Ogbe at the dangote tomato processing firm at kadawa, kura local government in kano yesterday.

Ogbe stated that the purpose of the ban is to encourage massive production of tomatoes by local farmers which will also help boast the country's economy. He said the government will invest 250billion naira in the bank of agriculture to help farmers with loan facilities.
