Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has appointed Lekan Adeniran as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

Governor Abiodun had, in his first term, appointed Kunle Somorin as his Chief Press Secretary.

But on Tuesday, the governor, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, announced the new CPS.

Mr. Talabi said in the statement, "The appointment takes immediate effect.”

Talabi described Adeniran as a graduate of Mass Communication with “over three decades of experience as a journalist.”

The statement said the appointee started his journalism career at The Guardian in 1992, where he covered the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Lagos State House of Assembly, and Governor’s Office, Alausa, Ikeja.

“He left The Guardian in 2001 to join the newly established Daily Independent. The new CPS also worked with the Compass, Next, and National Mirror newspapers.

“Before the appointment, he was the editor of WesternPost, an online newspaper publication,” the statement read in part.
