Operatives of Utako Police Divisional Headquarters have successfully apprehended a couple and another individual involved in 'one chance' robbery activities.
The trio, identified as Chukwudi Okorie (51 years old, male), Chibuzor Okorie (43 years old, female), a married couple, and Esther Gabriel (38 years old, female), all residents of Akaraka Gwagwa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of robberies, particularly the 'one chance' crimes occurring within the FCT and its surroundings.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, it was revealed that during the interrogation, the suspects confessed to carrying out a series of 'one chance' activities before their apprehension. The police also successfully recovered a Blue Mazda Car with registration number FCT 590 EV, which was identified as the operational vehicle used by the syndicate to carry out their criminal acts.
As the investigation continues, efforts are underway to apprehend any additional accomplices involved in these criminal activities. The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the FCT remains a safe and peaceful place for all residents. He urged the public to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and continue providing distress calls to aid law enforcement efforts.
This successful operation represents a significant stride in curbing 'one chance' robberies in the FCT and serves as a testament to the dedication of the police force in maintaining the safety and security of the region.
