Initially expected to regain his freedom on Easter Day, VeryDarkMan faced extended detention as police officials cited the unavailability of staff due to Easter celebrations. Reports from SaharaReporters highlighted the discrepancy between the assurances given by the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, and the on-duty Investigating Police Officers, who initially denied receiving instructions for the influencer's release.

Subsequently, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, Mr. Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, clarified that the release process could proceed on Tuesday, following the conclusion of the Easter break.

"I heard that the IPOs the lawyers initially met said they had not received any instruction to release VeryDarkMan, but later when they were able to reach DIG Alabi, he said there was no one available to process the release because of the Easter break," stated a source familiar with the matter.

The delay in VeryDarkMan's release underscores challenges within the Nigerian police system, particularly regarding administrative processes during public holidays. As the influencer regains his freedom, questions arise regarding the efficiency and responsiveness of law enforcement agencies in handling such cases and ensuring timely justice.
