Mathew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of the Sokoto Diocese, has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari once more.

In an interview with Channels TV, Kukah, a vocal critic of the current government, claimed that President Buhari has failed miserably in managing Nigeria's diversity. He even went so far as to accuse the President of being a blatant nepotist.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Bishop Kukah said:

''This place is a talent killer. You cannot treat young people like this and think you have a future. So the contestation, the volatility will persist. We may conduct elections, we will go through the motions but we are not expecting.
This is the only country where you ask yourself, what are the qualification people bring to the table? Papers are the last thing.
People are coming because they say 'it is our right, it is our turn', but it is not our turn to do good. It is our turn to make up for the marginalisation of our people.
The things I am saying against this President are two and I have stood by them, I have a lot of respect for him but he has been a disaster in the area of managing diversity and blant nepotism. it is morally reprehensible. And I stand to be corrected. Are the things I am saying not true?''

"When people talk about fear, I say fear of what?" Bishop Kukah responded when asked if he feared for his own safety. The only thing I'm terrified of is breaking the law, which I do every day. The only thing that makes me nervous is knowing that I've breached the law. I'll fear a human being unless I'm breaching the law, but what am I afraid of? Nobody has ever been abused by me. Even my worst opponents admit that I've never insulted anyone. "
