A local electrician named Chinwendu Samuel Mark, a 26-year-old man, has died of electrocution while reportedly trying to illegally reconnect electricity disconnected by operatives of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) Plc in Umuahia, Abia State.

Mark, popularly known as Oku Na Wire Mark died on Saturday at Warri Street in Umuahia while performing the task.

The victim is not an official of EEDC and is likely not qualified to perform the task.

A sympathizer was heard shouting "he has been doing this thing before na, what happened".

The 26-year-old was rescued from the pole where the impact of the electrocution suspended him and rushed to the FMC Umuahia and later Madonna where he was pronounced dead.
