Security agencies have arrested Yusuf Adenoyin, a suspected ritualist, with eight human skulls at Isua Akoko in the Akoko South-East LGA.
The 37-year-old was intercepted at a checkpoint between Isua and Epinmi while traveling in a Nissan car from Akure to Osogbo.
Adenoyin was accompanied by four other passengers when officers from the Police Safer Highway Patrol stopped the vehicle. A security source in Akure confirmed to Peoples Gazette that Adenoyin claimed he was traveling from Okene in Kogi State to Osogbo in Osun State to deliver the skulls to a herbalist.
The source disclosed that Adenoyin had concealed the skulls inside a sack of garri along with charms. Police Commissioner Abayomi Oladipo confirmed the arrest, stating, “Upon interrogation, Adenoyin confessed to owning the skulls and explained that he was delivering them to a herbalist named Opeifa in the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo.”
Adenoyin also identified other customers he regularly supplies with human skulls, including individuals named Almonso, Alfaa Agba, and Oshoyemi, who reside in various parts of Osogbo.
