Two additional commissioners from Rivers State, who are aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, have stepped down from their positions in the State Executive Council.
In separate letters addressed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara through the Office of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Commissioner for Social Welfare Inime Aguma and Commissioner for Transport Jacobson Nbina have officially resigned.
Their resignations come amidst a political crisis in the state, with a total of five commissioners now having informed Fubara of their intentions to leave the government.
Previously, Commissioner for Education Professor Prince Chinedu Mmom, Commissioner for Housing Gift Worlu, and Commissioner for Environment Austen Ben-Chioma had also announced their resignations.
