At the highly anticipated “Glowtime” event yesterday Monday, Apple introduced the newest iteration of its iconic iPhone—the iPhone 16 series.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, described the iPhone 16 lineup as “engineered from scratch to fully leverage Apple Intelligence and its innovative features.”

The iPhone 16 series will come in four variants: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, continuing the tradition of offering a range of options to cater to different user preferences.

iPhone 16 Pre-Order and Pricing

Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series will begin this Friday, with devices available for purchase starting September 20. Pricing for the lineup starts at $799 for the standard iPhone 16, while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at $899. The Pro and Pro Max versions are set at $999 and $1,199, respectively.

For those in Nigeria, estimated prices based on current exchange rates are as follows:

- iPhone 16: ₦1,316,352.50

- iPhone 16 Plus: ₦1,481,102.50

- iPhone 16 Pro: ₦1,645,852.50

- iPhone 16 Pro Max: ₦1,975,352.50

These prices are subject to variations due to factors such as shipping costs and customs duties.

iPhone 16 Features

All models of the iPhone 16 are powered by Apple’s new A18 chip, with the Pro versions featuring an enhanced Pro chip for superior performance. The screen sizes differ slightly between models: the iPhone 16 sports a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus offers a larger 6.7-inch screen. The Pro models come with slightly bigger displays—6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.

Among the standout new features are two additional buttons: the Action Button and the Camera Control button. The Action Button allows users to perform multiple tasks with a single press, such as launching a voice memo or the Calendar app. The Camera Control button offers instant access to the camera and allows users to adjust settings effortlessly by sliding a finger across it.
