2m out of the $322m recovered loot from the late Head of State, Sani Abacha has been spent on various empowerment schemes in a bid to lift Nigeria out of poverty. This she revealed while giving account of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) of the Buhari administration.


She explained that the Social Investment Programmes were anchored on four broad pillars; The N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfers, National Home-Grown School Feeding and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programmes.


She rejected the report of the World Poverty Clock which identified Nigeria as the poverty capital of the world as 91.6 million of its 200 million population are now extremely poor claiming that the figures used for rating the were garnered in 2012 and did not reflect the current economic situationin the country
