The result of the governorship election conducted in Ekiti state has been released and it has been announced that, the All Progressive Congress candidate, Kayode Fayemi has emerged the winner, making him to be elected as governor second time.
Fayemi was defeated by Ayodele Fayose in the previous election conducted, to make PDP have a state under their control, but after the election yesterday, People's Democratic Party (PDP) has no candidate as governor in all states in South West.
The APC candidate polled 197,459 votes while his closest rival had 178,121 votes, a margin of 19,338. Olusola won in only Efon Alaye, Emure, Ikere and Ado-Ekiti while Fayemi won major local governments, including Government House and Fayose's local Government. See results below
