One of the most wicked and despicable lies that President Muhammadu Buhari has ever told is that the Nigerian Army was restrained when fighting the Biafrans during the civil war.

This is a lie from the pit of hell and it is insulting and deeply offensive. We must learn from our history and never repeat its mistakes.

Was the Asaba massacre in which thousands of innocent and defenceless young boys and old men were slaughtered an act of restraint?

Or was the killing of 2 million innocent and defenceless Biafran civilians and the premeditated and contrived starving to death of 1 million innocent Biafran children an act of restraint?

For God sake where is our humanity? Must we lie even about our history and must we always deny the truth and attempt to revise it? No wonder they banned the teaching of history in our schools. Too much to hide!

The truth is that if not for the fact that the same group of people have been calling the shots in our country since 1966 every single commander of the Nigerian Army during the civil war, including Muhammadu Buhari, would have been charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity at the International Court of Justice at the Hague by now for the atrocities they commited against the Igbo race and the Biafran people during the civil war.

I don't need to be an Igbo to say or admit that. I just need to be an honest and objective historian and a God-fearing citizen of the world.

We must ask God to forgive us for what we did to the civilian population in Biafra and we must NEVER allow such a thing to happen again. Until that is done Nigeria will neither know peace or meaningful progress.

War is one thing but the targeting of innocent and defenseless civilians, including women and children, for ethnic cleansing, genocide and mass murder is quite another!

Former fovernor of Edo state and suspended National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in his Iyamho residence, Etsako West Local Government Area described the defection of Governor Godwin Obaseki and that of his deputy to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, “the bad heads in our party are gone”.

Oshiomhole stated this when he addressed a crowd of party supporters and faithful who thronged his residence Sunday evening after a similar scenario when he came home from Benin City on Saturday night adding that those that were bent on destroying the APC in the state have been “smoked out.”

He said Obaseki, used every obnoxious means, including the destruction of properties and unwarranted arrest of members, to destroy the party in the state saying “The Governor was demolishing the houses of our members while some were being jailed for trump up charges; these are the people who fought for him to become governor.

“I begged those who were being persecuted to take it easy, that they shouldn’t burn the house we all laboured to build because we want to smoke out the snake and now, the snake has been smoked out of the house.

“Few weeks earlier, the snake said APC was his house and that he was not leaving, but less than 72 hours after saying this, he left.

“If we had burnt the house because the snake was giving us problem, we will all have been homeless by now.”

“I have come home for only one project, I am not going back to Abuja until the project is completed.

“I came back home not to rest, but to work. We are political lions, we must commit ourselves to returning Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to Osadebe Avenue.”

He said the people should judge the present government with what they see and not what they hear.

According to him, “there has been no tangible development since we left government, all they have to show for almost four years are MOUs and earmark projects while we had eye marks projects.

“This was how they brought the respected Vice President to Benin to groundbreaking for an industrial park that we will never see. Same also goes to that of Gelegele Port.”
