The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has inspected facilities in Benin Republic for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Benin Republic and Nigeria have put forward a joint bid to co-host the biennial competition.

The CAF team visited the Charles de Gaulle Stadium in Porto-Novo and the General Mathieu Kerekou Stadium in Cotonou.

The team also visited six stadiums in Nigeria over the weekend.

Algeria, Morocco, and Zambia are also interested in hosting the competition.

Guinea was initially scheduled to host the competition but was stripped of the right after failing to put up facilities.

Later this year, CAF is expected to name a new host for AFCON 2025.
