The English Premier League's (EPL) match-day two potential game-changers have been identified: five players.
On Saturday, Arsenal will face Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium to kick off the second matchday of the Premier League.
On Saturday night, Brentford will play Manchester United, while Manchester City will play Bournemouth.
There will be two more Premier League games this weekend, on Sunday and Monday, respectively.
On matchday two of the Premier League, the Naijacrawl has identified five players who could be pivotal:
1. Erling Haaland:
The Manchester City striker was impressive for Pep Guardiola’s side last weekend as he netted two goals to ensure they defeated West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium.
The Norwegian international is expected to continue his brilliant display for the Premier League champions against Bournemouth.
He will be assisted in the Man City attack line by the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, and Rodri.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo:
The Manchester United forward is expected to start against Brentford on Saturday evening.
Ronaldo came off the bench during Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton last weekend.
However, the Portugal captain has already tweeted, revealing he is fit and ready to start against Brighton this weekend.
His manager, Erik ten Hag, also suggested at his pre-match press conference on Friday that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is fit to start against Brentford.
3. Darwin Nunez:
When he came off the bench in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Fulham last weekend, Nunez produced a man-of-the-match performance.
The 23-year-old scored a goal and registered an assist to ensure Jurgen Klopp’s side got a point against the newly promoted Premier League side.
The former Benfica star is expected to continue his impressive display and also start in the Reds’ squad ahead of Roberto Fermino against Crystal Palace on Monday night at Anfield.
4. William Saliba:
The Arsenal centre-back was named man-of-the-match against Crystal Palace last Friday.
The French youngster was solid at the back for the Gunners against Palace. However, for Arsenal not to concede a goal against Leicester City on Saturday at the Emirates, then Saliba will have to continue his outstanding performance for Mikel Arteta’s side.
5. Pascal Grob:
Grob produced a spectacular performance for Brighton against Manchester United last weekend.
He netted a brace to ensure Brighton defeated Man United at Old Trafford.
For Brighton to have a chance against Newcastle United on Saturday, then Grob will have to improve on the display he showed against Man United.
Grob is currently the joint-top scorer in the Premier League, alongside Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
