The Wanda era is over. Atletico president, Enrique Cerezo, confirmed this in the presentation of the sustainability partner and the City of Sport.

Wanda accompanied Metropolitano since the inauguration of the stadium in 2017, but had already informed the entity that this link would end with the end of the contract. The promoter, on the other hand, will develop the Ciudad del Deporte project, the complex adjacent to the stadium that Atlético is going to build. As confirmed by Enrique Cerezo, this sports city will include a mini-stadium for 6,000 spectators, an athletics track, a high-performance center and various sports spaces, including a beach and an artificial wave.
