Real Madrid's star midfielder Luka Modric has thrown his support behind teammate Toni Kroos for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award this year.
Despite the impressive performances of young talents Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr., Modric believes Kroos deserves the honor.
Kroos, who has been instrumental in Real Madrid's success this season, announced he will retire from club football after his contract expires this summer. The German international is set to make his final appearance for Los Blancos in the highly anticipated Champions League final against Dortmund this weekend.
Speaking to @MadridXtra, Modric expressed his admiration for Kroos, saying, "Ballon d'Or? Someone from Real Madrid surely (laughs). My favorites are Vinicius, Bellingham, and Kroos. I would like Toni to win it, he is my friend."
As the football world eagerly awaits the Champions League showdown, Modric's heartfelt endorsement adds to the growing support for Kroos to cap his illustrious career with the coveted Ballon d'Or.
