Chelsea are about to suffer a heavy transfer blow as Barcelona have declared their readiness to launch a bid worth up to £60 million for the Blues' target, Raphinha.
The bid from the LaLiga side could end Chelsea’s hopes of signing the Leeds United star this summer.
Arsenal were hopeful of signing the Brazilian a few days back before Chelsea hijacked the deal with a bid of £55m, but Barcelona have now agreed to Leeds’ £60m asking price.
While Raphinha is open to a move to Stamford Bridge, his first choice has been a move to Barcelona.
But due to financial constraints, the LaLiga giants have so far been unable to make a bid that meets Leeds’ demands.
The Times now reports that the Catalan club are now ready to launch an offer worth £51m up front with a further £9m to follow in add-ons.
Raphinha’s agent, former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Deco, on Wednesday met with president Joan Laporta to discuss the deal.
Barcelona are now hopeful of getting the deal done – with Raphinha’s desire to move to the Camp Nou a key factor.
