Jamie Carragher, a former player for Liverpool, responded sarcastically to the English Premier League accusing Manchester City of breaking its financial regulations.

This was stated by the former England defender on Monday in a tweet sent from his account.

This can't be true, Man City generate more revenue from sponsorship deals than Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Liverpool, Carragher wrote in a tweet.

Man City could lose points or be kicked out of the Premier League.

The Citizens are accused of breaking rules requiring "accurate financial information that gives a true and fair view of the club's financial position" to be provided "in the utmost good faith."
