Eric Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, has pledged to give his all to secure Nigeria’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Chelle, 47, was officially unveiled during a grand ceremony held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Monday. The former Mali international signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year.
Expressing his gratitude, Chelle said, “I want to thank my agent, the NFF, the NSC, and all Nigerians for this incredible opportunity. Coaching the Super Eagles is a dream come true, and I am deeply honored. I promise to work tirelessly to achieve our shared goals.”
Known for his attacking football philosophy, Chelle emphasized his commitment to delivering results. “Football is about scoring goals, and I favor an attacking style. I understand the high expectations of Nigerians, and I will collaborate closely with my assistants to ensure we qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” he stated.
The Super Eagles have had a challenging start to their qualifying campaign, currently winless in Group C with three draws and one loss. However, Chelle is optimistic about turning things around when Nigeria faces Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March.
Stay tuned as Eric Chelle embarks on this ambitious journey to reignite the Super Eagles' World Cup dreams.
