It just remain less than 2 days for Chelsea are to return fully to Premier League action. The Blues will host Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday where they will be hoping to capatalize on their impressive 4-0 win over Crystal Palace under a fortnight ago.

Here is the latest update about the injury of the Blues players that have not been in action due to injury.

Timo Werner was suffering from illness and missed Germany's 3-3 draw with Turkey last Wednesday. The Chelsea forward was then left out of the squad for the Ukraine game on Saturday.

However, in a massive boost to Frank Lampard, the £47.5m summer signing from RB Leipzig returned to action in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Switzerland on Tuesday night.

Furthermore, he was on the scoresheet and played the entire 90 minutes.

Edouard Mendy - STILL INJURED

Edouard Mendy made his Premier League debut for Chelsea in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, however he might have to wait a while for his next appearance.

The 28-year-old was on international duty with Senegal when he suffered a thigh injury during training.

The new signing has returned to the Blues to undergo further tests, however, Mendy is now expected to be out for the next Premier League game.

Hakim Ziyech - NOW FIT

Hakim Ziyech has returned to Chelsea after playing 31 minutes for Morocco last Friday evening.

The midfielder has withdrawn from the international squad after Chelsea brokered an agreement with Morocco that he would be allowed to come back to Cobham after playing one fixture.

Ziyech is still awaiting his Chelsea debut after missing the start of the season with a knee injury sustained during a pre-season friendly against Brighton at the end of August.

Christian Pulisic - NOW FIT

The USA international had been missing from Chelsea's squad after recovering from a hamstring injury but made his first appearance of the season in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Pulisic should be ready to push for a start when Chelsea host Southampton after the international break.

Ben Chilwell - STILL INJURED

Ben Chilwell has been withdrawn from the England squad to face Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.

After linking up with Gareth Southgate's squad, he has aggravated the foot injury that saw him miss the start of the season.

"Ben reported to the hotel today," Southgate said after the 2-1 win over Belgium. "He did a training session on his own. We’ve just got to assess where he’s at because he hasn’t been able to train through the week.

Billy Gilmour

Billy Gilmour is making good progress following knee surgery.

"He is progressing well," Lampard confirmed. "It was forecast as a four-month injury when he went into surgery, so we are looking at about four weeks from now that he will hopefully be fit, barring any hiccups.

Lampard have given final updates on some players with injury and new goalkeeper against West Bromwich Albion.

Lampard ruled out Hakim Ziyech making his Blues bow in the game at West Bromwich Albion and Christian Pulisic will not return from injury, but first Premier League starts for Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell are under consideration.

On goalkeeper Mendy, whose transfer to Chelsea was announced yesterday, Lampard had this to say: ‘He has had a long week when he has not really trained, he flew in yesterday and it feels too tight a turnaround to put him in contention to start the game.
