The head coach of Real Madrid Julen Lopetegui has said he will decide his goalkeeping situation on a game by game basis despite the signing of the goalkeeper that won the golden glove in the just concluded FIFA world cup Thibaut Courtois who is yet to be in goal for the Spanish club.
When speaking about why Courtois is being benched for Navas, the coach said, " It's not a situation that's easy to understand but it's simple enough to explain. I've got some really good options in goal and there are no problems in that area. We'll decide what's best for each game. Keylor got the nod today and did very well. There's great competition and that makes us stronger in the goalkeeping department. I've got some thoughts in my mind, but I'm not going to share them."
"Over the course of the season, I'll look for solutions to solve the next immediate challenge."
It will be recalled that the Belgian No.1 stopper moved from Chelsea to Madrid with £35 million and with a player swap this summer.
But since then, he has not made his debut for his new club and has been on bench for two consecutive league matches a situation that last happened to him in 2012.
