Real Madrid youngster, Rodrygo has become the first player since former Barcelona ace Lionel Messi to score more than one goal in the Copa del Rey final.
Rodrygo scored twice for Real Madrid as the La Liga champions defeated Osasuna by a scoreline of 2-1 to lift the trophy.
The Brazilian put the Spanish capital city club in the lead in the second minute of the match but Osasuna found the equalizer in the 58th minute, courtesy of Lucas Toro’s strike.
But Rodrygo would return with another goal for Los Blancos in the 70th minute and this time the goal proved to be the winner.
Now at PSG, Messi was the last player to score a brace for Barcelona in the final of the tournament.
The Argentina international and seven-time Ballon d’Or winner scored a brace against Athletic Bilbao in the 2020-21 final.
Real Madrid have now won the Spanish Cup 20 times in their history and have overall won 101 trophies in their illustrious history.
