Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has described former Blues teammate Eden Hazard as the laziest footballer he has ever seen in his entire life.
The Belgian attacker is regarded as one of Chelsea’s best-ever players. Now at Real Madrid, the Belgian has helped the Blues win six major trophies.
He left Stamford Bridge for the Santiago Bernabeu for an initial €100 million (£88.5 million) fee in 2019, but could only be described as a flop at the Spanish capital club.
Mikel, who shared the Blues dressing room with the Belgian international, said the 32-year-old did not commit to training, adding that he was amazed that the former Lille star was able to produce during matches.
“There is no place for you to be like, ‘I don’t want to train today,’” he told Dubai Eye 103.8.
“The only player I saw who did that and got away with it was Eden Hazard."
“He never trained." The laziest footballer I’ve ever seen in my life
“But then, come the weekend, he produces; he’ll win man of the match, then come in [the dressing room] with the trophy and be like, "Come on, guys, see."
