At least four major Premier League clubs will be missing from Monday night’s FA Cup fifth-round draw, as Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been eliminated from the competition in shocking upsets.
How the Giants Fell:
- Arsenal were knocked out in the third round by Manchester United at the Emirates. Bruno Fernandes gave United the lead before Gabriel Magalhães equalized. Martin Ødegaard missed a crucial penalty, and the Red Devils sealed their victory in a dramatic shoot-out.
- Liverpool suffered the biggest upset of the tournament so far, losing 1-0 to Plymouth, courtesy of a Hardie penalty.
- Chelsea crashed out after Brighton came from behind to win 2-1 at the Amex.
- Tottenham fell 2-1 to Aston Villa, with Mathys Tel’s late goal serving as only a consolation. To make matters worse for Spurs, they also exited the Carabao Cup just days earlier after a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the semi-final second leg.
With these football giants out, the FA Cup race is now wide open! Stay tuned for the latest updates.
