Today 5th of August 2018 marks the kick off of the 9th edition of the FIFA Under - 20s women's world cup tournament, a tournament that is being hosted by France.



The tournament that will last between August 5 - August 24 2018 will feature 32 matches to determine the champion.

The opening match of the tournament was between Mexico and Brazil, an enthralling game that ended with 3:2 in favour of the Mexican team, a game where the Brazilian team failed to convert an extra time penalty to an equalizing goal.

Sixteen countries from six Continents are participating in the tournament, it should be noted that the Super Falconet of Nigeria is part of the teams that are representing CAF in the tournament and the Falconet will be playing their opening match with Germany tomorrow August 6, 2018 by 1:30pm Nigeria's time.

Meanwhile, the Super Falconet head coach; Christopher Danjuma has assured that the Nigeria's team will perform exceptionally in the tournament and we do their possible best to bring the trophy home. It can be recalled that the best outing of the Nigeria's team in the tournament were in 2010 and 2014 where the team ended has been the runner-up in the tournament
