Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is set to turn down a move to Arsenal after holding talks with Barcelona manager Xavi.
Gundogan is in the final days of his current deal with the Premier League champions.
And according to SPORT, the German is ready to “close the chapter” on his career in the English top flight.
Arsenal are keen on bringing in players to bolster their central midfield, with Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga set to depart.
Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo are high on Mikel Arteta’s wish list, but Gundogan has also emerged as a potential target.
Arteta and Gundogan worked together during their time at the Etihad Stadium, and the Gunners boss lured Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from City last summer.
