After the much awaited game yesterday night of which Juventus clinched all the three points, the Turin club took revenge for a cheeky Barcelona tweet about the ‘GOAT’ when Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to beat Barcelona 3-0.
It will be recalled that in late October when Barca conquered Turin 2-0 on October 28, Barca’s official account tweeted:
‘We are glad you were able to see the GOAT on your pitch, Juventus!’ with an image of Lionel Messi.
The Allianz Juventus Stadium is of course home to Ronaldo, but he missed that game due to COVID-19.
We are glad you were able to see the on your pitch, @juventusfcen!
Juve replied: ‘You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We’ll bring you the right one at Camp Nou.’
GOAT is of course Internet speak for Greatest Of All Time.
So, after CR7 scored two of the three Juventus goals during a 3-0 victory that allowed the Bianconeri to secure top spot in the Champions League group, revenge was served.
‘We kept our word: we brought it!’
