In response to Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan, in which the Portuguese superstar launched into an extraordinary rant, Manchester United supporters have taken to social media to criticize the player.
On Monday, November 14, Ronaldo took the internet by storm after clips of his "tell-all" interview with television personality Piers Morgan went viral.
Ronaldo accused some individuals of wanting him to leave the club from the previous year as he took aim at several club members during the interview.
Ronaldo claimed that he felt betrayed by a number of individuals at Old Trafford.
“Not only the coach, but the other two or three guys around that are around the club. Honestly, I shouldn't say that, I don't know, but listen I don't care, I'm always... People should listen to the truth.” He said in the explosive conversation.
"Yes, I feel betrayed and I felt that some people don't want me here, not only here but last year too." Ronaldo had looked to leave over the summer, but ended up staying after a move failed to present itself.
The Portuguese superstar also boldly declared he has no respect for Erik ten Hag because “he doesn’t show respect for me.”
Soon after part of the interview was released, fans, presumably those affiliated with Manchester United, took to social media with a similar message: “Ronaldo must go."
“Terminate his contract ASAP,” One fan declared.
“Good! My club is finally doing something right. He is beyond washed with a terrible attitude, hopefully he takes the hint and leaves in January,” another added.
“Brother is paid 500k pw and can’t score an open goal but he’s the one who feels betrayed ok,” Said another fan.
“He spent the summer trying to get a move, nobody wanted him and his performances have been woeful. He's forced himself out of the club and out of legendary status with a lot of the fans too.”
“Well well well. Not surprised are we? Shouldn’t have brought him back. Time to leave. There is no way he should ever wear a Man Utd shirt ever again.”
“CR7 needs to be hang out to dry. Because he is washed.”
