Messi outperformed Mbappe in the rankings, earning a staggering 808 points to the Frenchman's meager 381

Mbappe was followed in the standings by tennis great Rafael Nadal, who finished third with 285 points, and Belgian cyclist Remco Evenopoel, who took fourth.

Max Verstappen, a star in Formula One, is ranked fifth.
