The rise of racist abuse on sportsmen especially footballers still makes the news every week despite the fight by the various sports governing bodies to put an end to such ugly act.
Speaking about racist chants in football, it has been a continuous thing this year especially in most leagues across Europe which has prompted some different reactions from the players and their various teams.
Last weekend, Mario Balotelli who currently plays for Brecsia football club in Italy received a racist abuse in their match against Hellas Verona. The racist chants was actually coming from the Hellas fans which made the Italy international to kick the ball to the crowd and walked off the pitch angrily. The referee stopped the match temporarily while Mario's teammates tried to talk him back to the field. A statement was read out to the speakers before the match was later continued.
