In order to address the team's dismal performance thus far this season, Chelsea manager Graham Potter had "honest" conversations with four Blues players on Wednesday at the club's training facility.
Chelsea has only taken six of the last 24 available points, and they were destroyed 4-0 by Manchester City last weekend in the FA Cup.
Potter claimed that he had lengthy conversations about the team's performance with Chelsea's most experienced players, including Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, and Mateo Kovacic, prior to the club's Premier League match against Fulham on Thursday night.
“I spoke at length with Thiago, Aspi, Jorgi, and Kova yesterday; we had a really good conversation. "They again showed their qualities as people,” Potter said at his pre-match press conference.
“They were honest and articulated their concerns well." They articulated their positivity and their responsibility. And I think we’re in a place where we can move forward.
“It’s an experienced team." The players are honest, and they want to take responsibility. They want to improve; they want to win.
“But at the same time, we are in a tough moment, and there are challenges that affect the players as well." They’re human beings.
“They’re paid to do their jobs, but they are not robots." "But I have been really impressed.”
