Real Madrid and Belgium goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois reportedly left training in tears after picking up the injury, according to Spanish journalist Miguel Diaz.

The ex-world best goalkeeper suffered a brutal injury during the training session

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have later confirmed that the former Chelsea stopper had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

The club made this known through a press release

Following tests carried out on Thibaut Courtois, the player has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days.

The Belgian star is now set to miss the entirety of the 2023/24 season. It leaves Real Madrid in disarray in the goalkeeping department with the start of the new La Liga season just days away.
