Manchester City midfielder Rodri has openly expressed his desire for the club to sign Athletic Bilbao’s 22-year-old winger, Nico Williams, who has also drawn attention from top clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
Williams, a standout performer for Spain during Euro 2024, played a pivotal role in their championship victory, scoring in the 2-1 final win against England. His exceptional performances have made him a hot prospect, with interest from European giants including Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
Speaking at AS’ awards ceremony in Madrid, Rodri enthusiastically endorsed Williams when asked if he’d bring the talented winger to Manchester City.
“Absolutely, yes. If I could, I’d take him to City tomorrow," Rodri remarked. "Although he’d have to get used to the cold in England—it’s not too different from Bilbao. But without a doubt, I’d take him.”
As Williams’ future remains uncertain, Manchester City could face stiff competition to secure the signature of one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
