Chelsea have identified Gabri Veiga from Celta Figo as a replacement for Mason Mount, who is Manchester United-bound.
Mount, an academy product at Stamford Bridge, is set to move to United this summer as the Blues continue their clear-out sales.
The likes of N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech, Jorginho, and Loftus-Cheek, among others, have already left Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have already begun the process of replacing the attacking midfielder.
The Evening Standard reports that Veiga is Chelsea’s top target for the attacking midfield position.
And the 21-year-old, who is available for £34.6 million due to a release clause in his Celta contract, has also been linked with Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Spain Under-21 star got 11 goals and four assists in 40 games for Celta last season, including a brace in a 2-1 victory over LaLiga champions Barcelona on the final day of the season, which secured the club’s survival in Spain’s top flight.
