Barcelona and their manager Xavi, have rejected the chance to sign Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino on a free transfer.
According to Marca, the Brazilian made himself available to the Catalan giants through his representatives as he is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Due to their financial issues, the Catalan giants are looking for cheap players as they have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare a squad for next season.
Reports in Spain last week claimed that there was an agreement in place with the Brazil international and La Liga leaders.
But Marca claimed there is no such agreement ‘or even a real interest from Barcelona’.
The report said that Firmino offered himself to the Nou Camp outfit a few months ago, but the proposal was rejected.
