At UFC 286 in London, Kamaru Usman was defeated by Leon Edwards over the course of five rounds, failing to win back the welterweight championship.
The three judges awarded the victory to the British fighter, giving him scores of 48-46, 48-46, and 47-47.
Usman's takedown attempts were mostly blocked by Edwards, who also delivered the fight's more precise blows.
He was rewarded for punishing Usman with a series of leg kicks, slowing the "Nigerian Nightmare."
Usman marched forward in his typical suffocating style, but that march became more of a hobble the longer he was sliced up.
Edwards had a point deducted during the third round for holding onto the cage, but still managed to come out on top in the huge clash.
