England legend, Wayne Rooney, has made it clear he is ready to return to football management.
The 39-year-old left Plymouth by mutual consent in December.
It marked Rooney’s fourth managerial exit in just two-and-a-half years.
However, failing to succeed at Derby, Birmingham City and DC United, in addition to his Argyle, has not affected his resolve.
“I would like to go back in [to management],” Rooney said on the Stick to Football podcast.
“But it would have to be the right club. Certainly the right club.”
He added: “I think you always have that ego, don’t you?
“You always have that confidence you could go in and get the best out of a bad or difficult situation.
“Obviously, that wasn’t the case [at Plymouth]. I am going to enjoy time with my family, though.”
