Former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has stated that his Burnley team will only include "players who can run.
"
In response to Cristiano Ronaldo becoming a free agent on Tuesday, Kompany made this statement.
Following his interview with Piers Morgan last week, Manchester United announced that Ronaldo's contract had been terminated.
Everyone else lost, according to Kompany, who is now the head coach of Burnley in the English Championship, but Erik ten Hag, the manager of the Red Devils.
I believe that everyone loses in the end, with the possible exception of Manchester United's manager, he said.
“I think it’s a problem that’s resolved, and they will move on from this, I’m sure.”
With speculation now rife over Ronaldo’s destination, Kompany has made it clear they won’t make a move for the 37-year-old.
“We need players who can run,” he simply replied when asked.
