Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has warned the club’s new signing, Mason Mount, that he might not go straight into manager Erik ten Hag’s starting XI.
Saha believes Mount faces a ‘fight’ for a place in the Manchester United squad following a £60 million move from Chelsea.
Mount recently signed a five-year contract with Manchester United after ending his 18-year association with Chelsea.
“Mason Mount is not necessarily going to go straight into the Manchester United team,” Saha told Paddy Power.
“It is such a long season coming up, and he will have to fight for his place.
“It is a big transfer fee for someone who only has a year left on his contract, but he is going to bring diversity to this team because he is a very smart, active, and busy player.
“He will create more one-on-ones for the strikers, and it is a brilliant signing.”
