In a recent interview, Jim Carrey acknowledged that he was initially hesitant to work with The Weeknd and contribute to the singer's most recent album, "Dawn FM.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 60-year-old actor described how The Weeknd, who also happens to be Carrey's neighbor, first approached him about playing a radio DJ on "Dawn FM." He told me that he was operating the radio station in purgatory, Carrey remarked. I expressed my love for you while saying, "I don't want to do any work."
Carrey later changed his mind about taking the part, claiming that he began "waking up in the middle of the night" with character ideas. He laughed and continued, "I started spitting bars, of all things, for God's sake. Eventually, Carrey agreed to be a part of the project and provided The Weeknd with several takes that he could use to play the DJ.
