Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arraigned at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
This development follows his decision to surrender to the police just hours after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
Why Was Portable Declared Wanted?
On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the police issued a wanted notice for Portable over allegations of assaulting three officials from the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA). The officials were reportedly attempting to seal his bar due to permit violations and insufficient air space, when Portable allegedly launched an attack on them.
How Did Portable Get Arrested?
After being on the run, the singer turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday. He was then transferred to the Ogun State Police Command, leading to his court arraignment on Thursday morning.
What Charges Does Portable Face?
Portable’s nine associates had already been arrested and charged with armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. With his arraignment, the singer now faces legal consequences related to the alleged assault.
